About Tai Chi Relaxation

Tai Chi Relaxation consists of eight movements and a quiet meditation. Through stillness and movement, the body's self-healing powers are strengthened, blockages are released, and natural life energy is stimulated. It is a good preparatory exercise for all Sheng Zhen movements. All movements can be practiced standing or sitting on a chair.

Level I

Tai Chi Relaxation Level I is the introductory level. It focuses on the perception and stimulation of acupuncture points that interact with neighboring body regions. Nine acupuncture points are addressed, all located on the RenMai or DuMai channels. The RenMai meridian (mother meridian) is connected to all yin meridians (Lake of Yin) and runs along the center of the front of the body (Ocean of Blood). The DuMai meridian (father meridian) connects all yang meridians (Lake of Yang) and runs along the center of the back (Ocean of Qi).

Level II

Tai Chi Relaxation Level II is the continuation. Here, the focus is on connecting acupuncture points with lines to ensure the smooth flow of Qi, including allowing Qi to flow between two or even multiple acupuncture points. Some of the nine positions/movements from Tai Chi Relaxation Level I are slightly modified, and we intensify the exercises by learning to channel Qi through breathing and our thoughts.
